Personal Statement Editing Service

By prab - Posted on 22 August 2008

A lot of people have contacted us and asked if there is a reliable service to have their personal statements edited. We have contacted a group of attending physicians who agreed to edit a limited number of personal statements for residency applicants at Residentscafe.com. How does it work? In order to signup, please go to http://www.residentscafe.com/members/signup.php and choose the personal statement editing service. You pay via paypal. Once you complete the payment, you send us your personal statement along with your CV to our email ID tumpati at hotmail.com (remove spaces and replace at with @). It takes 1-2 weeks to complete the eiditing process. IF the reviewer has any questions, they will contact you. Since we can only do a limited number of them, please singup as soon as possible. Many applicants do the common mistake of relying too much on the scores. The scores only help them to open your application. Once the program coordinator opens it, the first thing they look at is your personal statement. During my residency, I used to be very close to my program coordinator and I used to ask her what makes her call somebody for an interview? She said, the first thing she does after making sure they meet the program criteria is to read their personal statement. If that is not interesting or has errors, or poor syntax, she will not go any further and send a letter of rejection. So, Personal Statement is the single most important thing after scores. So, pay attention to it and make it like a nice readable story.
