Internal Medicine is my Passion - Sample Personal Statement If you are applying for residencies and want to get a lot of interviews, you should concentrate on writing a winning personal statement. While scores and everything else is important, the personal statement is what grabs the attention of the review committe to pick YOU from similarly qualified candidates. I personally was told by some of the Program Directors the reason they called me for an interview was because of an interesting personal statement. You can imagine the secretary going over hundreds of applications, who is usually overworked and an interesting personal statement is what makes her keep your file separate from the rest! Seeing others personal statements before writing your own will give an idea as to how to proceed and so I decided to post my personal statement on this forum. You can access it in the members section at the following url
