Dear Applicant: The faculty and staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Medical Center welcomes your interest in our residency training program. The goal of our department is to train physicians who can function as both primary care physicians and general obstetricians-gynecologists for women. We have designed a residency program that we hope will maximize the potential of each resident and will prepare them for a lifetime of practice as either a generalist or subspecialist. Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). All First-year positions are selected through the NRMP. The program considers only those individuals who have passed Part I of the National Board of Medical Examiners and who intend to take Parts II and III. We sponsor both the H1 and the J type visas. No US clinical experience is required to apply, however it would be beneficial if you had such experience. In addition, preference is given to graduates of United States medical schools which are accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Candidates should be eligible for licensure in a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States by the end of the second year of residency (contingent upon passage of licensure examinations). Candidates for residency through the NRMP should participate through the ERAS electronic application system. Those candidates not enrolled in medical school or who are otherwise unable to participate may submit the common written application form. A curriculum vitae and a brief personal statement should accompany the application. Candidates also are required to submit a Dean's letter, a letter from the medical school's obstetrics and gynecology chairman or designate, and two additional letters of recommendation from physicians who have observed their work. We request submission of a photograph for identification purposes only Sincerely, Jill Damiani
