A 75 SCORE IN THE BOARDS........CAN I SMEHOW MAKE IT?

By bongi999 - Posted on 25 November 2004

HEY DOC,
I AM DR.PRIYANKAR FROM INDIA. I JUST BARELY MANAGED TO CRAPE THROUGH STEP1 WITH A 75, CURRENTLY STUDYING FOR MY STEP 2. I REALY WANTED AN HONEST AND EXPERIENCED OPINION FROM YOU REGARDING:
A: IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF GETTING INTO INTERNAL MEDICINE/ FAMILY MEDICINE PROGRAM?
B: HAVE THE CHANCES OF ME GETTING A H-1 VISA REALY GONE DOWN THE DRAIN DESPITE THE FACT THAT I MIGHT HAVE MY STEP 3 SCORES BEFORE THE INTERVIEWS NEXT YEAR? THANX A TON MATE :( :?
Trust me, You can make it. You just need to work hard & try to get better scores. Try to get some US Clinical experience if you can, or get into some research position. Start writing to programs from this year itself.. try to build contacts & it will pay off. All it takes is a little hard work, perseverance and the desire to truly get into residency. Do not get discouraged by anything that you hear. Have faith both in yourself and God( if you believe in Him/Her!!) and just keep working towards acheiving your goal. All the Best!
