Applied with EAD without having one!

To know your problems further, we should analyse the whole situation including your scores, year of graduation, attempts, how many programs you applied to ect.

Hi Dr. Prab and others, I applied last year, had a good number of interviews, got a prematch on 2nd interview I was happy and signed it, cancelled all other interviews. after the match day I talk to my lawer about EAD, as I was hopeing that I will get the EAD before I start but unfortunately It was late ,and was a problem, so I have not get it yet. the program I contacted about this problem, they said they dont sponsor.......they requested me to withdraw from the program I did....this year I applied again.....to the same programs like last year........but ....i have not got any interview.....my question is that ...is there anything wrong ? what went wrong I dont understand. please reply me. thanks.?

Where will you rank them without joining NRMP? It is not possible to go the match witout joining the NRMP, remember it is NRMP residency match - they are the people providing this service and an opportunity to rank. However, you can ask for a prematch at any of the programs that you interviewed and see if they would respond, in which case, you can skip the NRMP match. If you are concerned, you can choose to not go for the match, but I think programs will understand, if you inform them in advance of your situation. Good luck!

I am sorry to hear that you applied using EAD, which in fact is, in its strict sense, considered providing wrong information since they are not asking about your future visa status but the visa status you were at the time of applying. So, if you do not get an EAD, you may have some legal consequences, even though it depends on the program, on how they see it. One way of dealing with that issue would be contact the programs and explain that, you may not get your EAD on time and that you are wondering if they would consider a J1 or a H1 in the event that you did not get your EAD in time. I do not mean to scare you but, it is a bit scary. If you contact them now, they would understand it better than not contacting, at which time, they may be upset and you career will be in jeopardy, if the program pursues it legally. Good luck!
