Hi
i am new to this forum.I applied only to ob/gyn too-but i have applied very very late(on Thanksgiving).I graduated in 2002 in E.Europe,82/90/certified dec.2004.No USCE,need visa, some publications during my medical school in another surgical specialty, among the top students in my medical school. This is my story. This year i wanted to apply just to ob/gyn-i have only 3 interviews and i don't see myself matching this year,so i am preparing mentally for next year's application.
Can you tell me how many interviews did you get and how do you feel about this match process?I noticed you went to Indiana-which program?I went there too for an interview-i didn't get any sort of feed-back!Please answer if you can.Good luck!H

hi indiana - no word.
they donot prematch.
they are very competitive.
but i will rank them high as they have 10 positions and take IMGs. no one offered me prematch. i did my step 3 this week.
mcqs are nightmares. will c siva
Hi Siva thank you for the reply.I pray to God and i keep myself busy by studying for step 3.Sometimes i feel positive, but most of the times i feel negative-everything is so uncertain...Archana here in the forum has a great personality....
Tell me please,Siva-did you get any kind of verbal or written feed-back from the programs you interviewed at?One faculty-not the pd-told me that i am a very strong candidate, but probably she says the same thing to everybody...???...Please tell me if this happened in any of your interviews. I wish you good luck in getting the residency of your choice!Stay positive!
H
Donot worry.
I manage only 4.
But i am positive.
So be cheerful Sivanesank
thank you !
Remember you just need 1 good interview to match! Go ahead and rank the 3 programs in the order that you like best. If you are lucky, you will match! If not, just get ready to scramble. Keep everything ready. In fact I would say, start emailing other programs from now on- send your CV and a brief note saying you are interested in their program and in the rare eventuality that they have any unexpected openings, you would like to be considered. Make a list of all the programs who respond to that email & check on scramble day to see if they have matched. If they haven't, send ur CV to that program first! Keep checking ur email on scramble day & if possible, keep 2 phones with you on that day & a really good fax machine which can handle a bunch of papers & not take forever to send 15 sheets of documents. And worst case scenario, if you do not match at the scramble either, register at www.findaresident.com and also watch the residents clearing house at www.acog.org - http://www.acog.org/departments/dept_notice.cfm?recno=1&bulletin=122 Network, network, network.. See if you can get an observership somewhere - but lets hope you match this year! All the best!
