Hi Prab ,
I want to apply for match of 2006. I am ECFMG certified and need to get H1B visa. I want to attempt step 3 in september 2005 .
1. is it too late to give step 3?
2. cant I transmit the scores after CAF has been transmitted

It is not too late to take Step 3 in September but the question is what is ideal versus what is acceptable time frame! It depends on your score and other credentials. IF you otherwise have good credentials, having Step 3 may not add much for H1 programs in the initial decision to call you or not but if you have low scores etc, and need a visa without step 3, they will be reluctant to call you! Hope it gives you an idea! Having said that, it is OK to take step 3 in September - Dec. GL!
