somebody help please urgent
I have done research and published papers. doing research now. In my PS i have written want to do fellowship.I am getting interviews in community hospitals. In one interview they asked me you have done so much research how come u could fit in community programs. please answer me what i have to tell. What i have to answer if they ask me what is your goal? doing fellowship or jobs after the residency. In community program they asked this question and i answered want to be a good clinician. They asked me then why u have done so much research? What to answer?Thanks in advance.

I would just say be honest. Tell them that you are interested in doing a fellowship & that is ur goal as of now. But you would also like to train in a residency which will offer u good clinical training. So, you are looking at programs which will help you become a good clinician and also pave a path for your fellowship.
I initially wanted to do a fellowship, but now i guess i will be happy as a generalist & this change has occured after i have been in the program for a year. So, you might change your mind too & decide to be a generalist! Or it may strengthen your desire to do a fellowship. If so, you can then ask them if they let u do any outside elective rotation or if they can guide you in getting a fellowhsip postion if you do decide that you want to persue that path...
