i am writing for the first time in your forum. i wanted to ask how important it is to have a strong personal statement? also i am still wating for my cs result. i got 92/96 in step one and two. should i apply without the result ? am i already late for applying ? i donot need a visa. does that help?

Thanks for asking an important question. Actually, PS is one of the most important parts to an application that can decide whether you get an interview or not after scores. This is how it works. Programs get so many applications that they have to use some screening tool to eliminate some applications and many tend to use scores as a screening tool. After that, they have to decide who to give the interviews among those that qualiy and PS plays a significant role in influencing that. I know of people with great scores but a poor PS getting very limited number of interviews and vice versa. So, get your PS look good and professional. As for applying, you should apply now! Do not wait for any results. They come when they come but apply now. Your scores are pretty good and you should be OK. Do check program requirements before applying. All the best.
