getting into residency

By Anonymous - Posted on 04 October 2006

Hi, I have been working here in the US in research for the past 4 years, and I have still not been able to get into residency despite my extensive, research , writing, lectures and also clinical experience. I have a green card too on top of that. And this year, I heard that the applications have been enormous, due to uK doctors applying here too. Now, I wonder if I will ever make it here in residency at all... preferrably med... ?????.. any help, any thoughts..
Hi,
Can you tell us more about yourself so that we can be more constructive in offering an advice? What are your credentials like scores, any USCE, years since grad. etc. The competition would always be there and it might be a bit more or less but I would not let that discourage you. Just look into all the issues like where you are applying, how many programs you applied, have a regular follow up.
