I read the internal medicine list in Residentscafe.com. I have a question about step 3.
In "Step 3" column of the list, I found many programs need step 3.
My question: is step 3 required for program application, or for program ranking, or for visa? I wonder if I have to have step 3 for applying to these programs. Thanks a lot. I appreciate your response.

Step 3 is required only if you need a H1. If you want J1, or have GC, you do not need step 3.
