applying for step 3

Hi I am currently doing residency in NY,do i have to chose step 3 under NY state and pay NY licensure fees to be able to sit for step3 or can i apply under california or connecticut and still take the test in NY.please answer,thank you in advance.
Sorry for the delay, I just noticed this post. Correct, you can do residency in NY and apply for step 3 via CT.

Thanks for your prompt reply,but i have a doubt,does this mean that irrespective of the fact that i am doing residency in New York state,it would not be a problem if i apply under a different state.Thanks in advance.
Hi,
You do not need to apply for the same state as your test center. You can apply for CT or CA and still be able to take it anywhere including NY. after you pass it from one state, it is good for all other states. All the best.
