h1b question for match!
hi, i m preparing for 2008 match. on the my eras profile they ask to select all the visa options we r looking for.
I am looking for h1b visa.
But I would also not want to miss out of the match.....
and would want to back up witha few j1 applications...
is it possible to show different visa preferences to different programs..... also i have good score in step 1[97], passed cs and waiting for step 2 results [i hope they r as good] and i have been in resarch with observership exp in cardiology dept of a university program.....
so i also want to try my luck in top rated programs and am willing to accept j1 if i get into such high ranked programs... so considering my situation is it possible for me to assign different visa preferences for different programs?

The ERAS CAF is only a rough guideline for programs on matters such as the visa preference. Most programs will ask you about it or you can specify at the time of the interview and subsequent thank you letters etc. So, just say H1 for now and once you get interviews and in communication with programs, mention about J1.
You can do it, we can help!
