about choosing medical board for step 3

By Anonymous - Posted on 03 November 2007

Hi,
I an an IMG and have cleared step 1,2 and CS all on first attempt.. I have applied for 2008 match. I intend to take step 3 in dec 2007 and have a doubt in my mind regarding the board selection for step 3. I have seen on FSMB website that CA,CT, virginia, west virginia and maryland all allow the candidates to take step 3 without post-grad training.. and I meet criteria for all the above mentioned states.. I have seen that a lot of candidates choose CT board of examination .. R the study material different for diff states.. M really confused about selecting state.. plz help me with the same.. thank you
Hi,
It does not really matter as far as the materials etc. which state you choose. The fee may be slightly different but other than that, everything is the same. You can choose any of these states. If in doubt, play safe and go for CT. You can still take where ever you want it despite which state you apply. All the best.
