Any questions regarding ObGyn applications

By Anonymous - Posted on 25 December 2007

Hey you all: If you have any questions regarding ObGyn interviews, please let me know. I know its really hard speciality, but not impossible. So put your best efforts and let me know if you guys need any advice on the ObGyn applications or any questions regarding the residency applications-general questions and you can ask about the other specialties as well as few of my friends are Pediatrics/Internal medicine and FP as well, so will try and answer that too. best wishes anju

:D hi anju
nice to see ur reply
i have mailed u other details
thanks
I do not check this forum everyday...I apologize if you have to wait a little bit for my answer! Some days are busy like hell ..but will definitely answer your concerns as soon as possible... anju
hey there: The thing is Ob/Gyn is really tough. I am sorry to hear your interview calls stuff. But do not worry about this at all. If you really want Ob/Gyn , then you can apply to the programs for the research spot since you have a publication so you would know how to do research. I dnt know where you are located, If u are in US-then email the program with your CV and Cover letter and the copy of your abstract and meet them personally if possible. once you are in system, then u can always ask for the clinical rotation there. This is how I got my research rotation! Once u have US LOR's and 1/2 US research abstract and step 3 score..Ob/Gyn wont be a problem....but its a lots of efforts and long hrs of work..but I never mind working like that because I love this speciality so much-that I am never ever burntout with this all, infact I am loving Ob/Gyn more than I did before...believe me it is the best speciality if you really love the Ob/Gyn work!! do not rush ur step 3 exam..go ahead and look for the rotation in US and you can write ur step 3 anytime before the next match. and step 3 wud be little easy if u have done some US clinical rotation.. hope this helps...
best wishes with your work..never give up..this is my perspective! though it is frustrating at times, but still belive me hard work always pays off..so just think that this match was to learn the ERAS application and you can always email me at suhag_anju@yahoo.com for any further questions.. I can understand that this is stressful, but keep trying, you will definitely get some research/observership somewhere and Ob/Gyn residency next year!! Anju
also anju i forgot to tell u i was very much inspired by looking at achraja rao post in this forum
