Once you complete residency, you would need to take a board exam to be board certified. While you can practice without the board certification in most cases, you would need it sooner or latter. It is usually not that difficult to pass the boards after doing a residency. You do not have to worry about it at this stage, if you are looking for residency! ALL THE BEST.
