GC and residency
Hi Prab,
I'll be doing IM residency in a community program on H1.Is it legally possible to initiate the GC processing by the hospital while I'm doing residency if I convince them that I would bear the expenses?
I understand that GC is filed for a future employment. What do the hospital show as "future" employment while I'm already doing a residency? Please advice!
Thanks

Sorry for the delay. Was in vacation. Yes, it is possible to file for a Green card even though there are not many programs that may be willing to do it. Abington does it in second year and that is where I did my residency. As for as future employement, you can actually do it with present employement as a resident. You do not need to show as a future employement. If you want, you can also find an employer after residency and file based on future employement if your residency program is not willing. All the best.
You can do it, we can help!
