August, 2005 Dear General Surgery Applicant: We are pleased you are interested in applying to the General Surgery Training Program at The Ohio State University. A description of our training program, including the various specialties, can be obtained at: surgery.osu.edu In 2006 we will be filling four categorical and four preliminary positions. Our categorical positions are six years in length, including five years of clinical training and one year of research. Research may be done in basic science or clinical outcomes.

Dear Resident Applicant: Thank you for your interest in our residency program in surgery at the Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital located in Sayre, PA. The residency program in General Surgery selects seven graduating seniors each year. Three are selected for the categorical five-year program; the other four are accepted for the one-year, designated preliminary program. The junior house staff in General Surgery consists of a total of 19 residents.
